1. Episode 1
The TARDIS lands on a human colony planet that initially appears to be a cheerful, non-stop holiday camp. However, the atmosphere quickly turns tense when the crew encounters an escaped prisoner named Medok. The Doctor becomes deeply intrigued by Medok's terrifying, seemingly mad claims that giant, nocturnal monsters are roaming the colony at night.
2. Episode 2
The Doctor is completely unable to convince the stubborn colony officials that the Macra actually exist. In response, the colony's unseen authority uses subtle mind-conditioning on the time travellers, causing a brainwashed Ben to turn traitor and betray his friends.
3. Episode 3
Deemed threats to the colony's forced harmony, the Doctor, Polly, and Jamie are sentenced to hard labour in the dangerous gas-mining pits. They uncover a frightening subterranean secret, and a daring escape attempt puts Ben's brainwashed loyalties to the ultimate test.
4. Episode 4
After rescuing Jamie from the clutches of a giant Macra claw, the Doctor finally comes face to face with the mysterious Controller. Uncovering the truth, he triggers an explosive plan to sabotage the colony's gas grid and liberate the human race from their giant parasitic captors.
